The Arc Family Resource Center provides family members of children and adults with disabilities, as well as self-advocating adults with disabilities a unique source of information and support. The Center, located in The Arc offices in Newtown Square, includes a lending library of written and video resource and training materials, computers for searching the internet for resources, and a family-style meeting place for support-circle meetings, informal gatherings or just a quiet place to review resource materials. The Family Resource Center intends to build its lending library to include adaptive equipment, and to create an on-line resource “map” for linking people with the resources they are looking for. The Family Resource Center is supported by grants from the Boeing Employees Community Fund and the Philadelphia Foundation.
