Who We Are:
The Arc of Delaware County (DELARC) is a non-profit membership organization incorporated in 1956 by parents advocating for the health and well-being of their children with mental retardation.
Historically, The Arc of Delaware County has played a vital leadership role in securing civil rights and community inclusion for all persons with intellectual and related disabilities, including the right to education, workplace accommodation and community living.
Today, The Arc is the premier advocacy organization for children & adults with developmental disabilities and thier families. DELARC is a chapter of The Arc of Pennsylvania and an affiliate of The Arc of the United States.
Our Mission
It is the mission of The Arc of Delaware County to advocate for the rights, opportunities and self-determination of persons with intellectual and related disabilities. Together our network of members and community partners, we provide advocacy services for individuals and families, connect people with resources, improve systems of supports and services, promote inclusive community practices, and influence public policy.

Family Resouce Guide for Pennsylvania!!
Adult & Family Advocacy Services provide adults with developmental disabilities and their families with support in obtaining needed
community-based supports and services, as well as linkage to social, educational and vocational
opportunities in the community.
Legislative Advocacy Services provide Delaware County legislators with information and perspective regarding the impact of pending legislation on children and adults with disabilities
and their families.

The Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) project provides an annual “snapshot” of quality-of-life indicators for adults receiving community-based supports and services.
Social and Recreation Opportunities are offered to support the development of social and recreational skills and promote the development of community inclusion practices.The Arc's social recreational program provides opportunities for socialization, friendship building and community inclusion through a variety of programs including First Fridays, a Friday night social club, Seasonal Dances, Daytrippers (trips to the theatre, sporting events, and cultural locations), and a variety of Bowling Leagues.
